    • Video Processing: Converting video URLs into AI-generated slide presentations using AI and transcription services
    • AI Tutor: Interactive chatbot for answering questions about presentation content
    • Note-Taking: Personal notes on individual slides
    • Bookmarks: Save and organize important slides
    • Export Features: Download presentations as PDF, PowerPoint (PPTX), or images
    • Sharing: Share presentations via unique links
    • Credits System: Usage-based credits (when activated)

    We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the service at any time with or without notice.

    4. User Accounts and Responsibilities

    4.1 Account Creation

    You must create an account through Clerk authentication to use Lecturno. You agree to:

    • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
    • Maintain the security of your account credentials
    • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
    • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

    You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials.

    5. User Content and Licenses

    You retain ownership of the video URLs you submit and the content you create (notes, bookmarks). However, by using our service, you grant Lecturno a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

    • Process video URLs through our third-party APIs (AI and transcription service providers)
    • Store and display your presentations, notes, and chat history
    • Generate AI-powered content based on your inputs
    • Enable sharing features when you choose to share presentations

    5.2 Video URL Responsibilities

    IMPORTANT: You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to process any video URLs you submit to Lecturno.

    By submitting a video URL, you represent and warrant that:

    • You have the legal right to access and process the video content
    • Your use constitutes fair use for educational purposes under applicable copyright law
    • The video is publicly accessible and not behind paywalls or private restrictions
    • You will not submit videos containing illegal, infringing, or prohibited content

    5.3 Fair Use Notice

    Lecturno is designed for transformative educational use. Users are responsible for assessing whether their use of video content qualifies as fair use under applicable copyright laws (e.g., 17 U.S.C. § 107 in the United States). We do not provide legal advice regarding fair use determinations.

    5.4 AI-Generated Content

    Presentations generated by our AI are created based on your input video URLs. You retain ownership of these AI-generated presentations, but you acknowledge that:

    • AI-generated content may not be eligible for copyright protection in all jurisdictions
    • Similar presentations may be generated for other users processing the same video
    • You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of AI-generated content before use

    6. AI-Generated Content Disclaimers

    6.1 No Warranty on Accuracy

    AI-GENERATED CONTENT (INCLUDING PRESENTATIONS, SLIDES, AND AI TUTOR RESPONSES) MAY CONTAIN ERRORS, OMISSIONS, INACCURACIES, OR BIASES. THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED FOR EDUCATIONAL AND INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.

    You acknowledge and agree that:

    • AI-generated content is not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or error-free
    • AI models may produce "hallucinations" or incorrect information
    • Content should be independently verified before relying on it for important decisions
    • AI-generated content is not a substitute for professional advice or certified educational materials

    6.2 Educational Limitations

    Lecturno is NOT:

    • A substitute for certified educators, tutors, or educational institutions
    • A source of professional, medical, legal, or financial advice
    • Guaranteed to meet academic standards or curriculum requirements
    • Responsible for educational outcomes or academic performance

    6.3 Third-Party AI Services

    Our service uses third-party AI providers for content generation and transcription. We pass through their disclaimers and limitations. We do not endorse, guarantee, or take responsibility for the outputs of these third-party AI services.

    6.4 User Responsibility

    YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR:

    • Verifying the accuracy of AI-generated content before use
    • Assessing whether content is appropriate for your intended purpose
    • Any decisions, actions, or consequences resulting from reliance on AI-generated content
    • Compliance with academic integrity policies when using AI-generated materials

    7. Prohibited Uses

    You agree NOT to use Lecturno for any of the following purposes:

    • Illegal Content: Submitting or generating content that violates laws or regulations
    • Harmful Content: Creating presentations containing hate speech, violence, or harassment
    • Spam or Abuse: Excessive or automated use that burdens our infrastructure
    • Reverse Engineering: Attempting to extract, copy, or replicate our AI models or algorithms
    • Unauthorized Access: Attempting to access other users' accounts or data
    • Misrepresentation: Claiming AI-generated content as entirely human-created when required to disclose AI use
    • Commercial Resale: Reselling or redistributing our service without authorization

    8. Third-Party Services

    Lecturno relies on third-party services for core functionality:

    • Clerk: Authentication and user management
    • Convex: Database and backend infrastructure
    • Supadata: Video transcription services
    • AI Service Providers: AI content generation

    We are not responsible for the availability, performance, or policies of these third-party services. Service interruptions, errors, or data loss caused by third-party providers are beyond our control. You agree to review and comply with the terms of service of these third-party providers.

    9. Credits and Payments

    9.1 Credits System

    When activated, our credits system will govern usage of the platform. Details about pricing, credit allocation, and refund policies will be provided when the system launches.

    9.2 Beta Period

    During the beta period, services may be provided free of charge or at discounted rates. We reserve the right to change pricing and credit policies with reasonable notice.

    9.3 No Refunds

    Except as required by law or explicitly stated in our refund policy, all payments and credit purchases are final and non-refundable.

    10. Intellectual Property

    11. Copyright Infringement and DMCA

    We respect intellectual property rights and comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe content on our platform infringes your copyright, please contact us with:

    12. Termination and Suspension

    LECTURNO, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
    • Educational or academic consequences from reliance on AI-generated content
    • Copyright infringement claims arising from user-submitted video URLs
    • Errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in AI-generated content
    • Service interruptions, data loss, or technical failures
    • Third-party service provider failures or errors

    OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF LECTURNO SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

    Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability for certain damages, so these limitations may not apply to you.

    14. Indemnification

    You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Lecturno, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

    • Video URLs you submit for processing
    • Content you create, share, or export using our service

    • Warranties of uninterrupted, secure, or error-free service
